hey people,

Thought i'd introduce myself i'm making a v8 chevy s10 pickup, i bought it from ian armitage, we have the 400ci small block for it and a th400 gearbox so far

we are looking at putting 4link suspension , ford 9inch diff and 29/18.5/15 wheels

We are looking at bringing the engine back behind the front wheels to give better traction but is they any rules bout this?

I am based in cleckheaton but we are working on the truck in liversedge in my units, we are putting a 2 post ramp in to work on the truck (anyone wanna come and work on there car/truck are welcome to)

i run a CNC engineering company so i have the machinery to make custom parts for this project and if anyone else wants something making just ask, i machine alot of turbo castings for various big turbo companys so we are looking at going twin 91mm turbo's later so that should be fun :)

Hi Kenny, sounds like we are neighbours! Our cars are garaged in Cleckheaton, Maybe I'll call & see you some time.
As for the Engine setback, There are no rules against, only thing you need to make sure is that the replacement bulkhead is sealed so it won't let smoke/fuel/flames! into the drivers compartment!
Turbos? Mmm........... interesting! Whereabouts is your workshop?
Cheers, Dave.

yo peps,

just wondering if you could help me, i'm trying to figure out the gear ratio on the diff i should use, i'm going for a 29/18.5/15 tyre, with ford 9inch with around 500hp but will be climbing when turbo's are added

as anyone got a chart of ratio's wheel/power that sort of thing for this type of racing

cheers in advance

kenny

Depends on your intedned RPM's through the traps
there are loads of calculators online
I'd guess around a 4:11 gear
